What do I do if my dog is outside of the Credelio Plus product weight ranges?
Credelio Plus is for puppies from 1.4kg and 8 weeks of age. Talk to your vet if your dog is smaller or younger than this. For dogs weighing over 45kg, the appropriate combination of whole tablets matching the weight of the dog can be used. For further advice, contact Elanco’s Animal Health Consultants.
How do you dose a growing puppy?
Puppies should be weighed each month and dosed according to the dosing table based on their weight at the time of administration. If a puppy outgrows the weight range between doses, treat according to weight when the next dose is due. It is not recommended to re-dose prior to when they are due for their next monthly dose. If you are in a high tick pressure area, contact your veterinarian for further advice.
I am currently using a different product; how can I safely transition my dog to Credelio Plus?
Before changing to Credelio Plus, check that your dog is older than 8 weeks of age, and weighs at least 1.4kg. If changing from a product that provides tick control, maintain the dosing interval of the original product — i.e. start Credelio Plus when your dog is next due for their tick prevention treatment, then continue monthly dosing. However, if changing from a product that does not control ticks, it is important to start protecting your dog as soon as possible. Give Credelio Plus with your dog’s next meal. However, if you’ve given your dog a worming product today, wait a couple of days before administering Credelio Plus.
Can Credelio Plus be given to pregnant or lactating dogs?
Credelio Plus should not be given to pregnant or lactating dogs.
Can I use Credelio Plus with Seresto?
Yes. Credelio Plus can be used with Seresto Collars for Dogs for additional and complimentary tick protection. Seresto is recommended for all dogs at risk of ehrlichiosis, as it is the only product that reduces the transmission of the deadly disease from brown dog ticks to dogs. If it is the first time using the products in combination you can separate out the doses by a couple of days. For further advice, talk to your vet.
Can I give Credelio Plus to my cat?
No, Credelio Plus should only be administered to dogs. Seresto Collars for Cats offer flea and tick protection for cats.
Can my dog have Credelio Plus alongside other medications?
Credelio Plus has been safely used with a variety of medications around the world. For further advice, talk to your vet.
